Waiver and Cancellation Policy

I understand if there are not enough registrants for my chosen location, I may transfer to another location. If I am unable to attend in another location SOYA will refund my money in full.

I understand should I decide to withdraw from the SOYA teacher training 36 or more calendar days PRIOR to the commencement of the program, the non-refundable deposit of $650 plus applicable taxes will be retained. Any additional payments that were made will be refunded, less a $100 processing fee.

I understand should I decide to withdraw from the SOYA teacher training 35 calendar days or less PRIOR to the commencement of the program, there are no refunds or credits given.

I understand if I have paid a non-refundable deposit or full payment for meals and/or accommodations to my Teacher or a Facility where the training is held, any refunds will be applied according to their cancellation policy.

I understand that each online lesson takes approximately 2-4 hours to complete, and is required to be completed prior to attending each teacher training session.

I understand I am required to attend all teacher training sessions for the duration of the program. Any missed sessions must be made up at my own expense with SOYA faculty in order to meet the Yoga Alliance requirement for contact hours and certification, as outlined in my Teacher Training Manual and under the Attendance Policy.

Upon entry into these study programs, I agree not to copy or adapt these lessons/materials in any way for use outside of the SOYA program without permission from SOYA.

I understand that upon registration I will receive SOYA’s monthly enews and I may unsubscribe at any time.

I acknowledge that I understand Yoga is not a medical procedure and the Yoga Teacher will not be providing a diagnosis of any medical problems or concerns, which I may have. I understand Yoga is a process of integration intended to facilitate wholeness, body-awareness and self-awareness. I understand that I am solely responsible for my health, safety and well-being. I agree that I will inform the Yoga Teachers of any health concerns I have. I will also inform the Yoga Teachers of any activity or movement which I cannot safely perform, and that I will not perform any activity or movement which I feel is likely to cause me to injure myself. I understand that SOYA faculty will follow all recommended and required pandemic-related health protocols and will expect the same of each student. If I do not follow these protocols, I understand that SOYA has the right to ask me to leave the training and no refunds will be provided.

I agree to assume responsibility for any risks, injuries or damages, known or unknown, which I may incur as a result of participating in the training activities with the School, either in person or online, including those which may result from the negligence of the School. I hold the Yoga Teacher and the South Okanagan Yoga Academy harmless from any and all responsibility for any injury which I may sustain during or as a result of my Yoga sessions.

Commencement or Start Date Definitions:

The start date of ALL trainings, is when the student starts the online lessons, i.e., submitting quizzes.
