Mugs McConnell shares techniques from her book, Letters from the Yoga Masters, drawn from letters by the great yoga masters of the past.
With over 20 years of experience training yoga teachers, the South Okanagan Yoga Academy (SOYA) has expanded to offer yoga teacher training in Penticton, Prince George, Sorrento, Creston and Pitt Meadows in British Columbia as well as Calgary in Alberta. We offer another 200 hour training in Mexico each winter.
Ever evolving, SOYA’s Teacher Training is designed with flexibility, accessibility and transformation at its heart. SOYA’s 200 Hour and 300 Hour Advanced Upgrade Yoga Teacher Trainings are offered in Immersion, and Extended formats.
With its roots in the Sivananda lineage, the training is inclusive of many styles of hatha yoga such as Ashtanga, Sivananda, Yin, Restorative, and Vinyasa all while incorporating thorough study of yoga philosophy. This outstanding aspect of the SOYA Teacher Training embraces unity in all yogis, regardless of their paths and styles of yoga. SOYA holds dear to its heart the words of Swami Sivananda, “The paths are many but the Truth is One.” Many of these teachings are drawn from the book, “Letters from the Yoga Masters”, written by SOYA co-founder Marion (Mugs) McConnell.
